Collect birthdays & hire dates
Slack does not store birthdays or hire dates, so Culture Engine cannot read them. You either ask for each one or type it in.
Prefer to read?
See who is missing a date
Go to Settings → Workspace → Members. Anyone missing a date is flagged: No dates set, No birthday, or No work anniversary.
Ask the team for them
The Never miss a celebration banner counts who is still missing one. Its button says Ask 2 members, or however many yours is. It DMs all of them, not a group you pick, and each person is only asked for the date they have not shared. Confirm with Send reminder. You can do this once every 24 hours.
Or set them yourself
Click Edit on a member. Fill in Birthday and Hire Date, then click Save. This is the faster route if you already have the dates.
Good to know
A birthday is saved as day and month only. There is no year, so nobody shares their age. To turn celebrations on, see Set up birthday & anniversary celebrations.
